Resident Evil movie reboot in the works, will be faithful to games

Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down) will direct an official origin story adaptation of the Capcom games set in 1998 in Raccoon City. The film will star Kaya Scodelario (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) as Claire Redfield. No release date was announced, but the project joins a live-action series at Netflix and a new animated project.
