Your character runs forward automatically, and you will press spacebar to jump or press twice to double jump, with goal being to jump from one building to another, jump over boxes and other obstacles, and collect icons for points. What each mission entails is usually to find certain thing, and you will do when you reach end course, with challenges getting progressively harder as you keep playing.
