Platon Galperin wins 10th Pontevedra Masters, Leon Luke Mendonca third - ChessBase India

IM Platon Galperin (UKR) scored an unbeaten 7.5/9 to win 10th Pontevedra Masters 2022. He finished a half point ahead of the competition. GM Karen Grigoryan (ARM) and GM Leon Luke Mendonca scored 7/9 each. Leon was placed third according to tie-breaks. The only other Indian to finish in top 10 is - IM P Shyam Nikhil. He scored 6/9. Both Platon and Leon remained undefeated. Karen lost against both of them. Total Prize fund of the tournament was €12000. Top three prizes were €2000, €1200 and €800 along with a trophy each. This is Leon's second podium finish of the year after he won Hamburg Chess Club GM Invitational 2022 in May.
